USA: King-Morgridge Scholars Program @ University Wisconsin-Madison
Eligibility: Students are selected for their drive, academic merit and commitment to alleviating poverty in their own countries. Recipients are from Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, South and Southeast Asia
Value: up to 6 scholarships per year. Full-time, four-year scholarship to the University of Wisconsin–Madison that includes tuition and fees, on-campus room and board, health insurance, airfare, and a stipend for miscellaneous expenses
Application: submit an undergraduate first year application to UW-M and the scholarship-specific application found on the scholarship hub.
USA: Wells Scholars Program @ Indiana University Bloomington
Eligibility: One of the most prestigious and competitive programmes offered by US institutions. In addition to a record of serious commitment to one or more activities outside of class, past successful nominees generally place in the top 5% by class rank, have a GPA of at least 3.9 out of 4.0, and (optionally) a 1430+ SAT score and/or 32+ ACT score.
Value: Full cost of attendance for 8 semesters for around 2 International Wells Scholars. Additional benefits include: close faculty mentorship and careers advising, financial support for study abroad, summer courses, internships, creative activities or volunteer experiences, frequent academic and extracurricular activities with distinguished guests, and alumni networking.
Application: via nomination process. Students and their nominees must submit all required documents through the application portal by November 1st and also complete their application for regular admission by this date. Applications open in early August. Finalists will be video interviewed.
USA: Robertson Scholars @ Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill
Eligibility: Students who have demonstrated outstanding potential to become great leaders in college and beyond – leadership, intellectual curiosity, strength of character, evidence of collaboration. Finalists must be able to travel to campus to attend the Finalist Weekend to be eligible for selection.
Value: eight semesters of full tuition, room and board, and most mandatory fees. Scholars also have access to generous funding for up to three summer experiences, funding for conferences throughout the academic year, and for two semesters of study abroad.
Application: Apply for undergraduate admission at either/or both schools. Scholarship applications open in August and close mid November. A completed application, self-reported grades and two letters of recommendation will be required. Finalists will be interviewed on campus.
GERMANY: Full-Tuition Scholarship @ Jacobs University
Eligibility: All applicants for undergraduate programmes will be considered. The scholarships are merit-based and will be awarded to a well-rounded undergraduate who demonstrates exceptional academic potential, intellectual creativity, extracurricular involvement, leadership potential, a multicultural mindset, and a strong motivation to make a difference in the world.
Value: one full tuition scholarship worth 60,000 Euros. Living expenses are not covered.
Application: submit an application for an undergraduate programme. Deadline is usually the start of April and the recipient is informed by the end of April.
QATAR: International Students Scholarship @ Qatar University
Eligibility: international students with outstanding academic performance – minimum high school average of 95% + acceptance to an undergraduate programme.
Value: tuition fees, book fees, 500 QR monthly salary, student housing and transport to/from campus, annual round trip air ticket, and a residence permit under QR sponsorship.
Application: Apply through the online admission application in the “Scholarship Application” section during the application period. No additional documents are required other than what is required for general admission.
CANADA: Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award @ University of British Columbia
Eligibility: For students who demonstrate financial need. This award recognises international undergraduate students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, exceptional leadership skills, involvement in student affairs and community service, and recognised achievement in other key areas.
Value: Up to the full cost of the student’s program and living costs. The value of each award will depend on the applicant’s financial circumstances
Application: After applying for a programme at UBC, students must be nominated by their high school and submit an academic reference, financial information, details of extra curricular activities, and a completed application form. Deadline is the start of December.
SINGAPORE: Science & Technology Undergraduate Scholarship @ National University of Singapore
Eligibility: Candidates must be citizens of an Asian country, excluding Singapore. They should have outstanding academic results, demonstrate strong leadership qualities and potential, and have an excellent record of extra curricular activities. Students should be applying for a full time undergrad degree in Computing, Engineering or Science.
Value: Tuition fees (after MOE Tuition Grant Subsidy) and compulsory fees, plus a
S$6,000 annual living allowance, S$1,750 one-time computer allowance upon enrolment, S$200 one-time settling-in allowance, an annual accommodation allowance equivalent to the lowest double room rate for on-campus accommodation, and one-way air passage from their home country to Singapore at the beginning of the course of study, and return air passage from Singapore to home country at the end of the course.
Application: No separate application is required. Candidates will be considered through their application for undergraduate admission.
CANADA: Concordia Presidential Scholarship @ Concordia University
Eligibility: For full time undergraduate international students who demonstrate academic excellence, community leadership and are motivated to make the difference in the global community.
Value: Covers all tuition and fees, books, residence and meal plan fees for up to two students of each incoming first year class. Will be offered for up to 4 years of study proving the student maintains renewability requirements.
Application: Apply to Concordia, pay the application fee and obtain a student ID number. Student’s must then be nominated by a school principal, teacher or guidance counsellor who will complete a nomination package, including a 500-1000 word personal statement on the candidate’s suitability. Students will then be invited to apply. Recipients are notified in April.
ITALY: Global Explorer Full Scholarship @ John Cabot University Rome
Eligibility: Merit-based and awarded primarily on the basis of academic achievement at the time of application. All prospective first year students are eligible to apply.
Value: Total cost of tuition and fees for up to 3 students each academic year. The award is renewed annually providing students maintain a 2.67 cumulative GPA and satisfactory academic progress.
Application: All students who are evaluated for financial aid are automatically considered. Students should also complete the Merit-Based Scholarship application which includes a 250 word essay. Students will also be considered for other merit based scholarships and will award you the one with the highest value amount.
CANADA: President’s International Scholarship of Excellence @ York University
Eligibility: For international students applying for undergraduate admission. Should have an excellent academic record with a minimum ‘A’ average, or equivalent, and have demonstrated leadership through community service, or excellence in sports, arts, or other areas of individual achievement.
Value: 20 per year. Worth $45,000 per year and renewable for an additional three years of undergraduate study providing the recipient maintains a good academic standing each year.
Application: You must submit the International Student Scholarship & Award Application by early February after you have submitted your application to York University by mid-January. Two letters of recommendation and other supporting documents will be required.
